Arcus is sold through a 30-minute scoping call and a pilot on your real warehouse. No list prices, because the meaningful variables — sources, governance, residency, contract scope — vary by company. Three engagement paths. Talk to us; you'll have a quote inside a week.

How a quote is built

A quote is a function of five inputs. None of them are tokens.

We don't price by token, query, or row. Token-based pricing punishes the questions that move the business — the long, exploratory ones — and the ones we want our customers asking. Here's what we actually price on.

1

Team shape

How many people will use Arcus, and how heavily. We separate active users (who ask questions) from viewers (who consume dashboards) — viewers are inexpensive in our model, because we want everyone in the company to read the answer.

2

Data footprint

Number of warehouse connections, number of SaaS sources, and the size and complexity of the schemas. Two warehouses with a clean dbt model is different from twelve sources with conflicting metrics.

3

Governance posture

SSO, audit, custom roles, SIEM export, BAA, and private-network requests change the scope. Anything beyond the v1 default goes through a security and legal review before we quote it.

4

Reasoning volume

How much exploration the team does — pooled across the workspace, never per-user. We size a pool that comfortably fits, watch the actuals through the pilot, and adjust before renewal. We will not surprise-bill you for asking too many questions.

5

Contract scope

Term length, redlines, data residency, multi-region, support commitments, and multi-tenant vs. single-tenant architecture. These are real costs we bear; they show up in the quote, line-itemized.

+

What is not a variable

Model token spend. Included unless you bring your own provider contract. Warehouse connectors. v1 supports BigQuery, Snowflake, and Postgres. Storage. Threads, memos, and audit logs are included in the agreed retention term.

Compare paths

Read the matrix. Find your edge case.

Every engagement answers the same questions; the differences are about who's asking, where the data lives, and which contract clauses you need. Use this to identify which path is the right starting point for the conversation.

Demo path

The demo is the start of the work.

Most companies can't pilot Arcus by themselves — IT wants SSO, security wants current evidence, the warehouse owner wants a non-prod role. We start with a 30-minute call and a scoped pilot plan.

  • 1
30-minute scoping call. You bring two questions you can't currently answer. We bring a CSM and a solutions engineer. You leave with a workspace.
  • 2
Sandbox connected to your real warehouse.Read-only role, narrow schemas, no PII required. We turn around access in under 48 hours from your IT ticket.
  • 3
30-day pilot with a success metric. One recurring workflow scoped. Three named users onboarded. A briefing book reviewed by your VP. We agree the metric on day one.
  • 4
Procurement, in writing. We send the current MSA, DPA draft, and security questionnaire responses after the demo. Any unsupported artifact is called out plainly.

Our stance on pricing

Three opinions, taken from the scars of every previous tool we used.

No per-token charges.

Per-token pricing punishes the questions that move the business. We charge by team and capability so you can ask twice as often without a finance call.

No seat math games.

Active users only. Read-only viewers of dashboards don't count. We reconcile at term-end and credit you for inactive seats — we'd rather have your trust than your overage.

No list price, no list-price haggling.

If we published a list price, half of you would feel ripped off and the other half would feel courted. Neither is the relationship we want. The quote you get is the quote we'd give anyone shaped like you.

Pricing FAQ

The questions every finance team asks first.

If you don't see yours, mail sales@usearcus.ai — we answer in a business day or our CSM lead does.

Why don't you publish list prices?

Because the variables that change a quote are not on the page. Source count, data complexity, governance posture, contract scope, residency — they all matter, and a list price would either be wrong for most of you or insultingly fenced.

We can usually quote inside a week of the first call. That's faster than most companies' procurement cycle.

What does a Pilot cost, ballpark?

The pilot is a fixed monthly engagement, sized to scope. It's designed to be small enough that a director can sign for it and meaningful enough to actually prove the thesis. Most pilots are signed inside the first call.

How does seat counting work?

Active users only — anyone who logged in during the term. Read-only viewers of public dashboards don't count. We reconcile at term-end and credit you for inactive seats.

What counts as a "thread"?

One root question plus all the follow-ups, edits, branches, and re-runs underneath it — the whole investigation. Asking "What's wrong with paid acquisition?" and then drilling for an hour is one thread, not eighty.

Do model token costs hit our bill separately?

No surprise model pass-through is planned for standard contracts. Model-provider scope, BYO model contracts, and private routing are reviewed during procurement.

What about overages? Can we get surprise-billed?

No. We size a pool that comfortably fits your usage during the pilot, watch the actuals through the term, and adjust at renewal. If you're regularly over, we add capacity to the contract — we won't punish you for asking too many questions.

Can we pilot Team without an annual commit?

Yes — that's exactly what the Pilot path is for. 30-day term, monthly billing, no auto-renew. If we agree on a success metric on day one and you don't hit it, you don't convert. Most pilots convert; the ones that don't, don't, and we don't chase.

How do you treat non-profits, education, or YC?

Materially preferential terms for accredited non-profits, .edu, and current YC batch companies. Email sales@usearcus.ai with proof and we'll send the relevant SOW.

Can I see a sample contract before we talk?

The trust center explains what is public and what must be requested. We can share the current MSA, DPA draft, and security packet after a scoping call.

What happens to our data if we cancel?

You can export every thread, memo, dashboard, and audit log at any time. After cancellation, your tenant is deleted within 30 days unless you ask for retention. We send a deletion attestation with the date and the SHA of the wipe job.
